Mantra Monday: Keep Calm, Love The Dog

Before we adopted Linus I thought the above picture was funny...

Only recently did it stop being funny and start being true.

Our sweet little Linus has gone to the dark side!!!!

Last night we went on a much needed date to see "5 Year Engagement" (Super cute movie btw).
At one point during the movie I lovingly gazed into my husbands eyes and said something that had
been weighing on my heart since we pulled out of the driveway..
"I miss Linus"

But then we came home to this!!!

 Tissues....a lot of tissues.
They were on the couch, which he can't jump up on, in the living room and kitchen, and even stuck to the wall!!!!

Tonight we made a quick run to Target and Home Depot and came home to an insurance claim in a thousand little pieces, my unused puke bag from the hospital inflated, and a naughty puppy wearing my necklace....yes....my necklace.

Our little Linus suffers from some Serious separation anxiety.
We try to leave him at least once every day.
We leave the whole downstairs open for him to roam.
He has a plethora of toys and bones to chew on.
He has access to potty pads (which he uses....most of the time)
We leave the T.V. on for him.

What more could a dog ask for!?

Whenever we get home he isn't happy to see us, he's in a state of panic, running around scared and crying and peeing and trying to jump into our arms.

Anyone else go through this with a puppy?
Any tips?

It's really hard to stay mad at the little guy when he does stuff like this:

Oh Yeah!

Marvelous May Giveaway!

I'm so excited to announce my very first giveaway!!!
I joined up with the lovely and ever so fashionable Jessica from "Living the LA life" and she so graciously put this awesome prize up for grabs!

Hello readers of Jenna’s darling blog! I’m Jessica from “Living the LA Life.”
I’m a recently engaged gal who likes blogging about her coming wedding, juicy sale rack finds, weekend adventures, and eating out in Los Angeles. I believe that by documenting my life, I've been able to capture the faces, places, and moments that make life worth living. In the two past months I decided to expand my blog beyond just family and friends and have created really great relationships with people! For the next week Jenna has been kind enough to host a giveaway on my behalf!

This means you have the opportunity to make this funky scarf and arrow necklace your own! The scarf can be worn hanging loosely against your chest or more snugly around your neck. Summer is right around the corner and this little guy is the perfect way to stay just a tad bit warmer during late night BBQs and beach bonfires!

I'd love to have you stop my little site and say hello!

7 Questions!

It's time for another "7 Questions" from Gentri!

Funny photo of the week:

This is me at age 6 after raiding my grandparents dresser. I was a "hipster" way before it was cool!
Remember those jelly shoes!? They made your feet super dirty and smelly! Gross!

1. You are stuck somewhere you really don't want to be, do you- walk home, call a friend, or stick it out?

I'm usually the type to either walk home or call a friend rather than stay in a position I don't want to be in.

2. Do you like to PLAY sports?

Not anymore. I grew up playing roller hockey and riding dirt bikes. I was a total tomboy for awhile. For a couple years I was the son my Dad never had :)

3. Everyone has that one "different" song that they secretly love- what's yours?

Hmm..this is a tough one! I'm gonna have to go with "Ziggy Stardust" by Bauhaus

4. What is one thing you feel you are really good at?

I feel like I'm really good at being a compassionate friend. If you're having a bad day, I'll be there with flowers or cupcakes or your favorite doughnuts! I just love doing little things to make a bummer day better.

5. A dog is running in your direction and barking loudly- what do you do?

Well, depending on the size of the dog, I either freeze and brace myself for impact or get low and welcome the little cuddlebug with open arms.

6. Star gazing or cloud watching?

Star gazing! Especially on summer nights with the smell of bbq's or salty sea air...I can't wait for summer!!

7. What time of the day do you feel the most productive?

I usually feel most productive in the late afternoon or late at night. Sometimes it's just to hard to get myself motivated in the morning!

Happy Ovary

As you read this I am at the hospital for my surgery.
Thank you everyone for your prayers and kind words throughout the process.
I have a couple posts scheduled just in case I don't feel up to blogging the next couple of days.

Hopefully next time we meet I'll have a happy ovary like the one above!!
