On A Mission!

I just realized that I have more photos left than days in November!
It's time to kick it into gear!
Day 21: Pretty Pattern.

I couldn't settle on just one so here are a few that I've been working with lately.

Day 22: Trees.

A couple of weeks ago I went on a hike with my Mom and we found a tree with a hole
in it.

<3 Husband
Thanksgiving in Merced.

Black Friday.

This post has nothing to do with Black Friday because you couldn't pay me to go shopping today.
You're all a buncha' Crazies!

Day #20: What I read.

Everyday I check about 8 blogs. This is where most of my reading is :)
Most of the blogs are crafty, stylish, beautiful moms.
All women I aspire to be someday in the near future.

Give Thanks.

My growing relationship with Jesus, My Husband, My Family, My Friends, Our Home, Our Love, Health Insurance, Cold Weather, My Kitchenaid Mixer, Our Comfy Bed, Cuddlebug Times, Target, New Opportunities, A Garage To Park Our Cars, Grandpa Sweaters, Best Friends, Boots, Tights, iPhone Apps, Marriage, & What The Future Holds...

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Catch up!

I've been neglecting my blog and my photo list!
Last Saturday I had the opportunity to shoot my best friends, brothers wedding.
My first photography gig! Woo hoo. Thanks to my lovely husband for all the help!
So that's my excuse. I've been spending most of my computer time editing pictures.
I'll be sharing those after I send them off to the newlyweds.

So here we go!

Freshly baked Cookies and Cream Cookies! They are amazing. Tim, Leah and I split one because
they are for Thanksgiving :)

We recently had our new entertainment center delivered and I was so anxious to put stuff on the shelves. So far we have the wedding cake toppers I made and a ceramic bird cage. I'll
be sharing the rest another day once I find the perfect drapes to complete the living room.

You never know what you'll find in there!
(Normally I don't have Tim's chewed gum but the other day on our "Optometry Date" he was in the chair waiting to get his eyeballs examined and I mentioned that he was chewing his gum rather loudly so he spit it in his hand and gave it to me. Ahhh..the joys of parenthood...I mean marriage. :)

Where I slept. Don't judge on the mixed patterns! When we got our Cal King bed we ran out
and bought the cheapest sheets and comforter we could find until we redecorate the master bedroom.

Whew! All caught up!

Best Husband Ever!

Day #14: Flowers

Tonight Tim went to the grocery store to pick up some things and came back with
a beautiful fall bouquet.
Even more impressive than a husband who brings home flowers is a husband who reads your
blog and knows that today you need to photograph flowers.

Day Thirteen.

Day 13: From a Distance.
Giblet in a timeout.

The Day I Became Radioactive...kinda

It all started with this:

3 large bottles of barium contrast aka breakfast.
Me being the hypochondriac that I am, I spent countless hours googling and you tubing and web md'ing CT Scans and Barium Swallows.
Countless forums and videos of gagging & vomiting later
I decided that this morning would be the worst day of my life.

When I arrived at the office the receptionist scurried to the mini-fridge and pulled out each bottle of death. Slightly chilled with about an inch of powder settled on the bottom.
I asked for a straw and took my seat next to my cheering squad (mom).
And it began...I was to drink each bottle in 15 minute intervals..ha yeah right.
The taste you ask? Well....the only way I can describe it is a slightly cool, Children's Dimatap tasting, chalky, melted milkshake.
I got mostly through the first bottle without gagging...just the occasional shiver of disgust.
Each bottle I left a tiny bit and my mom would discretely throw it in the trash.

By my third bottle it was getting unbearable...Half way through I had the biggest gag of the day and I was done. I refused to vomit all of that liquid up in the waiting room.
Just about then my name was called..phew!

When I got to the Scan room I was asked to put on the ever stylish, backless robe.
Ready for the easy part, I sat down on the bed waiting like a champ until the technician looked at my half full bottle and asked me to finish it...I tried and couldn't force it down so she gave me
a cup of water to drink.
Next she administered an IV that would shoot dye into me and make the pictures more visible.
"Okay, Mrs. Lopez, I'm going to put something in the IV to see if its working. You are going to taste what a skunk smells like for a little while."
I laughed thinking she was trying to lighten the mood.
She wasn't. I tasted Skunk.
"Alright, that's done with. Now I'll administer the Dye. You will feel yourself start to warm up starting at your throat and ending in your pelvis. It will feel like you're wetting yourself, but you aren't."
This time I took her seriously. Only seconds after she pushed the liquid through the IV my cheeks felt flushed and my throat felt thick and warm and WHAM! I was "wetting" myself.
(Not really, but it sure felt that way)
It was the strangest feeling ever.

She then scooted into the next room to start the scan.
I was shot in and out of the little tunnel a couple times before she returned.
"Mrs. Lopez, your stomach isn't quite full enough. Please chug this glass of water"
I was ready to explode...I already felt I was peeing all over the bed!
I choked it down, finished the test and made a mad dash to the restroom.
Now I'm home, drinking more water trying to flush this stuff out of me.

Day # 11: Something Fun
Tonight we met Tim's parents at Disneyland for a special pass holders holiday
extravaganza of sorts. After the park closed we were allowed to stay.
I wish Disneyland was that empty every time!

Mac Fan Girl

Day # 8: Technology.

It's true. That husband of mine has turned me into a Mac fan girl.
I used to think he was silly when he HAD to have every new product
that came out. I now understand the awesomeness that is the Mac.

Pizza Rolls

These were soooo easy to make and they were super good!

Pizza Rolls

2 cans refrigerated pizza crust (we only used one and it was more than enough. But don't forget to cute the measurements in half!)
garlic salt or garlic powder
Italian Seasoning
1 C sliced, chopped pepperoni- divided
2 C shredded cheese, Pizza Blend-divided
1 C Parmesan cheese-divided

1. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured cutting board or wax paper.
This gets a little difficult because the cold dough doesn't want to
keep its shape. Just keep at it.
2 . Sprinkle the dough with garlic powder/salt and Italian seasoning.
3. Cover in chopped peperoni, grated cheese and Parmesan.

4. Roll the whole thing (Starting with the shortest side) into a tight, neat log.

5. Slice the roll into 1 inch pieces and lay out on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes.

**Tip** To keep the bottoms from burning I put an empty cookie sheet on the bottom
rack to help absorb heat.

Just heat up some marinara for dipping and there you have it!

Day # 7: Something New.

Yesterday Tim got a package in the mail. It was supposed to be a Christmas present, but
he gave it to me early. The glasses that I wanted!!! Can't wait to put my prescription in them.
He's the best!

Day # 6: Childhood Memory.

When we were little my parents would take us to the beach.. a lot.
We would stay all day and rollerblade or ride bikes up and down the boardwalk, usually
from Huntington to Newport. Then once it got dark my dad would start a fire and we
would have dinner. It was usually freezing so my dad would dig us holes to sit in with boogie board wind blocks. I loved those days!
I love this picture because:
1. I'm in the back eating bread out of a bag like a chipmunk.
2. There is a Lisa Frank beach towel!
3. I'll never forget what Devon said to go along with that face!
She was eating what she thought was just chili and all of a sudden

Day #5: Someone I Love

Surprise, Surprise...

Girls Night

Tonight was girls night. Heather came over for dinner.
I felt the need to impress her so I went all out.
Starting with the most complicated Mashed Potatoes known to man.
I was super excited to use these cute little "Prep Bowls" though!

I also made my very first meatloaf!
It turned out awesome and I used this super cute baking dish.

We let The Boy invade girls night for dinner <3

For some reason nobody wanted their picture taken...

After the usual trip to Target to walk around, we came home and made Pizookies!
All I could find were quiche pans, but they worked.

Then we watched 500 Days of Summer because Heather had never seen it and I'm tired of her
calling it 385 Days of Summer.

Day #4: Favorite Color.
