Snow Day

Bright and early this morning we made our way up to Big Bear to give this girl her first taste of snow.

For the last year or so she has been obsessed with snowballs and snow angels because of that scene in Beauty and The Beast and when she jumped out of the car her mind was blown!

"What do you think Norah?!?"

"Is Boo-ya-full!"

And it really was.

I spent a lot of time doing research to avoid crowds and dirty, melting snow. I found a blog post about an abandoned ski resort and there were only a couple other people there. The snow was fresh, and powdery, and plentiful.

I can't believe this Winter wonderland was less than 2 hours from home!
Norah had so much fun and we can't wait to go back to our "Secret spot".

OC Zoo Tour

How many people can say that they are friends with a Zookeeper!?
We can!
Lauren is the sweetest person you could ever meet and she is the greatest mom to all of her little
zoo babies. Our life group had the opportunity to go on a behind the scenes tour of the OC zoo this morning and it was AWESOME!

Thanks Lauren!

We got to hold the baby porcupine. This is Bernadette and she's only 7 weeks old!

I was totally comfortable with her till she dropped her treat and got squirmy

Yep, that's me feeding a bear an apple slice...no big deal.

Lauren said she had a surprise for us and came out of a shed with a beaver on a leash!

Is that not the cutest little ball of spikes!?

We had such a fun time! If you live in Orange County I highly recommend it for an affordable, fun outing. Be sure to say hi to Lauren!

Beach Camping

Tim has been wanting to go camping so we decided to do a small one nighter in Carlsbad before we decide to brave the actual wilderness. We had a prime spot and the weather was great! Nothing better than a campfire at the beach with your honey. I was super excited to sleep in the tent on our new air mattress but we both had a hard time sleeping. I guess that's to be expected though. It was still a nice little getaway. Now here's a bunch of pictures!

We could have fit 4 families on our campsite.

There was an invisiblechildren.com rv camping across from us

We worked great as a team setting up and taking down everything so I think we're ready for the big leagues!
