Happy Halloween

We celebrated by dressing up like big dorks, decorating the outside of the house last minute and
passing out candy to about 200 kids (according to our neighbor who counted).
We went through 4 Costco size bags of candy!

Thanks to Leah for hanging out with us so we didn't look like the creepy couple down the street.

Weekend Festivities

Last night we were invited to Madeline and Aaron's house for a pumpkin carving party!

For my pumpkin I decided to channel Martha Stewart and do a "cute" Jack O' Lantern.

I give you, birds on a twig:

Tim did the "Troll" face:

This was Leah's first time carving a pumpkin...EVER!
She carved a hot air balloon:

Here are the rest of them:

Today I decided to try the vampire pumpkin but the teeth we bought
were too small :(

We also played our first ever game of mini golf.
Tim beat me by 1 measly stroke!!!

Yes...he went there..

After the round of golf my competitive juices were flowing so we went into the arcade.
I beat him in air hockey 7-2 then in basketball, 106-15...
Enough said.

It's Halloween in the Lopez Household

I didn't do much decorating this year..
1. I'm still a little run down from wedding decorations
and
2. Decorating this big old house could get expensive.
I've realized that in order to fully decorate our home we will have to acquire decorations
through the years.
I like this idea because I remember as a kid breaking open the Halloween boxes to
find all of the mismatched, fun decorations from years past.
I feel like that's more special than buying matching, Martha Stewart decor all in one day.

We went with a "friendly, fall" theme rather than the typical, scary, bloody, dark theme.

Update from the doctors office

(Waiting for my appointment today)

Well...I had endoscopy last month and they removed some things and tested them and they came out benign.

I had a colonoscopy a couple weeks ago and got the results back today.
The polyp they removed from my colon was also benign.

All very good news but I can't help being a little disappointed that they didn't find anything.
I would rather them find the problem and fix it then to continue spending money searching for
something and feeling horrible.

Once the doctor found out that I was still experiencing the nausea and headaches
he decided it was time for a CT scan.

Next month I have an appointment to check out the cyst they found on my ovary.
I'm starting to feel like this is the neverending process!
Trying to stay positive and praying that things will be better .. sooner than later :)

Duck Pond

Today we went to feed the ducks.
So glad I brought my camera because this video has given me a couple hours of pure joy.
Something about a little kid getting owned.... (jk Heather)

Becoming the Black Swan

Today Mom, Devon and I worked on Devon's Halloween costume and it turned out amazing!
I haven't been this excited about a costume in years and I'm not even wearing it.

She is going to be Natalie Portmans character in Black Swan.

We started with a black tube top , black tutu, hot glue gun, and lots of black feathers.

We glued the base feathers on then had her try it on for the finishing touches.
Surprisingly I didn't burn her :)

(Please note my "Leah" hair :) )

Next was the crown.
We started with one that looked like this:

In order to achieve the dark, "Gothic" look I decided we needed to burn it.
I love a good plastic/flame combo but was a little intimidated in the beginning so
I had Mike test the flammability of the princess tiara.

The BBQ didn't work so we resorted to the flame of a tea light. It took awhile but gave
us just the look we were looking for .
For the finishing touches I added some black and silver paint here an there:

A couple of feathers and VOILA! Perfection!
(It only caught fire once or twice)

Sistah' Sistah'!

Two of my favorite people <3

I made her try everything on and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out.
Can't wait to see it with the crazy makeup!!

To celebrate our success we went to Target and Starbucks.
I got my first ever Pumpkin Spice Frap.

It was alright...

30 Before I'm 30

Today I received an offer for an opportunity that I couldn't turn down.
Although I can't wait to divulge the information, I must wait just a bit longer.

This couldn't have come at a better time , for lately I've been feeling a little
lost. I'm more than sure it has to do with me being busy and overwhelmed the last year
planning the wedding and moving and now I feel a bit empty (Artistically of course. I have enough love to fill me 5 times over).

I've been inspired to make a list of 30 things I want to accomplish before I'm 30 years old.
( That's only 5 years away, people!!!)
