Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to my favorite guy.

Even though he's over 9,000 miles away he still made sure today would be special for me.

I'm one lucky girl!

Finish This V.5

1. I will never outgrow: Cute dolls and toys. When I have kids I'll have an excuse to buy them! Tim surprised me with another Blythe doll for Valentines Day! Friendly Freckles!

2. I splurge on: unnecessary things for Linus. Anyone remember the shark costume?

3. My worst habit is: peeling my nails and picking at my cuticles. Its a total nervous habit that leads to ugly and painful hands.

4. My passport represents: A blank canvas and endless possibilities! No stamps yet but I can't wait for my first one.

5. My most ridiculous fear is : Mice and/or rats. I just got shivers thinking about it!

6. My favorite thing to give is: flowers and baked goods. There's nothing better!

A Lovely DIY Party on a Budget.

I've never really been a fan of traditional Valentines Day items . Roses and all that mushy stuff? No Thanks! But I am a fan of throwing parties with beautiful decorations! Oh and love too...I'm a fan of love.

I recently spent some time browsing through the Tiny Prints website and found that they had really cute Valentines cards and Invitations.

I fell in love with this not so traditional Valentines Postcard and I knew I had to base my party on it.
It served as the perfect invitation!

I really wanted to keep this little gathering budget friendly. I used only things I have in my home and it turned out so beautiful. I recycled the mason jars from my wedding to display flowers and hold take home favors and used scrapbook paper for the special little details.

I covered the table with some Kraft paper. It serves as a fun alternative to a table cloth and it really brings the whole DIY theme together. Instead of the traditional table runner I opted for a stitched paper garland based on the design of the Tiny Prints invitation.

These Rag tie cupcake picks are a simple and cute addition to any baked treat. These can be found in my shop, Jenna Leslye Designs.

Are you kidding me with these wood patterned straws!?

For a cute take home treat I used recycled mason jars filled with fresh baked cookies. I replaced the top with a simple cupcake wrapper and added a matching label to the front. Tiny Prints also sells super cute stick on labels for all occasions.

I had so much fun creating for this fun, "non-traditional" Valentines party!

My Cup of Tea Sunday: Super Bowl Sunday!

Super Bowl

I'm sure you can tell which team I'm cheering for! I'm not much of a football fan, but my family is so I grew up around it and they are die hard Denver fans so any Super Bowl they go to is a fun one!

Here's some baby Jenna pics

Finish This V.4

Today I'm linking up with some awesome ladies for a weekly series called "Finish This".

1. I use my "Green Thumb" to: obsess over my succulent garden! Luckily with succulents you don't need much of a green thumb. This is the first little "garden" that I've cared so much about. I check on it every morning to see if something else has bloomed and if the neighbor cat has done his business in the planter. Darn cat!

2. The secret to life it: Hmm...That's a good question! I like to think the secret to life is love and finding joy in simple things. I've got that love part down but finding joy in the little things will always be something I need to work on.

3. I get my money's worth by: recycling things I already have and giving them little facelifts. Voila! Something new!

4. On a scale of 1-10, my level of organization is: This really made me think about my method of organization. There are some things in our home that are NEVER organized and some that MUST be organized. Over the years I've learned that I would much rather organize someone elses stuff. I can't wait to organize baby stuff!  So a number? Umm... 7!

5. A Gentleman always: protects you. Physically, mentally, and spiritually.

6.. Handwritten notes are: SO MUCH FUN! I love sending and receiving snail mail. Emails are super handy but you just can't show as much love and creativity over an email.
