New York: Day 1

We made it back!
After 4 extra days trapped in New Jersey and lots of searching and calling for flights we got on one of the first planes to LA.

All I can say is that it was an experience.... but more on Hurricane Sandy later.

I arrived late Wednesday night and was completely exhausted. We walked around Times Square for a little bit then headed back to the hotel.

The next day we planned on doing as much touristy stuff as possible as to beat the weekend rush.

This is the view of Manhattan from our hotel in Jersey City, right on the Hudson River.

For lunch we went to a small but very famous pizza place in West Village for my very first slice of New York style pizza!

After lunch we headed over to Rockefeller Center

We bought passes to go to the top of the Rockefeller Building for the amazing view

After taking in the city from 67 stories up we headed down Fifth Avenue to check out all the shops.

After tons of walking around, we got back on the subway and headed back to New Jersey for the night

Picture overload coming the next few days!

  1. Such great pictures! It's crazy how many huge buildings there are in the city. Those trees on the roofs of Gucci, was it?, were so neat!
