All good things come to an end...

You may have heard that Angels Knoll park in Downtown Los Angeles was closed down.
It is the park in 500 Days of Summer where Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel hang out, but more importantly, it's the place where I became someones fiance.

"The Angels Knoll park above the Angels Flight funicular, the spot where Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt had a lovely moment in (500) Days of Summer, has been closed to the public to keep out the homeless and prepare for a property sale--the upper space of the park, where JGL's character described his love for architecture and his plans for improving LA's skyline, and the Hill Street concrete plaza at the foot of Angels Flight, across from Grand Central Market, are now both off-limits. A successor agency to the now-shuttered Community Redevelopment Agency owns the park and is trying to sell it--bureaucrats thought clearing the space of people would help, the Downtown News reports.
The Hill Street space was thronged with homeless people; according to Grand Central Market owner Adele Yellin, some were defecating in the space. On top of it all, when the park was first fenced off a few weeks ago, officials didn't include a gate, so the no one could remove the overflowing garbage bins inside, and a rat problemsoon took over. The city added a gate and cleaned up the space on Wednesday, but both parks remain closed. There's no timeline for a sale of the parks and many are steaming that it's now inaccessible: "I think it looks awful," one downtown worker says. "Yes, now it's clean, but you can't go inside."

I really wish we could have taken one more trip to visit it but I'm so happy my Sister-in-Law was there to take pictures! You can read our engagement story here.
