Gender Reveal

I'm sure you've heard by now but.. IT'S A GIRL!

I've always wanted a girl but this whole time I just knew it was a boy so I was pleasantly shocked when the ultrasound tech told us He was a She!

She's looking healthy and was dancing around like crazy. We were told that she is very petite and probably won't stand a chance in the WNBA.

Originally I hadn't planned on doing a gender reveal but since most people thought it was a boy as well, the idea of surprising everyone made it so much fun.

We told my family with a massive confetti balloon.

Linus was only a little terrified

Then we met up with Tim's parents at Disneyland and got to tell them over a birthday dinner for my father in law! It was perfect timing and exciting to tell him he was getting a Granddaughter for his birthday.

For our Life Group we met up at the cutest old fashioned ice cream parlor where everyone got a mystery packet of sprinkles

I'm so excited to be a girl mom!

20 Week Update

Aloha from our Maui Babymoon!

How far along? 20 Weeks! Can't believe I'm half way there!
How big is baby? The size of a banana
Gender: ITS A GIRL!!! I'm still so shocked.
Cravings: Mostly sweets
Best moment this week: definitely this awesome trip
Movement: Not yet but she is verrry active in there. The ultrasound tech said she was a dancer.
Symptoms: Random pains when I laugh or sneeze, one bleeding nostril (wth?), and I'm for sure finding it a little harder to breathe these days.
Any weird dreams? Not too weird, just very vivid. I wake up so often through the night that they are easier to remember.
Have you been nesting? Now that we know the gender its on! BUY ALL THE CUTE THINGS!
Looking forward to? Making the most out of our last full day in Hawaii :)

18 Week Update

Holy Cow I'm almost half way! And no, there aren't two babies in there!

How far along? 18 weeks- Starting month 5!
How big is baby? The size of a sweet potato or a pint of Ben and Jerrys
Cravings: Chocolate Chip Cookies. I bought some from the bakery last week and they were totally stale from the get go but I still allow myself  one everyday!
Best moment this week: We've been having really great weekends taking advantage of "Us Time". This weekend we went to Long Beach to get King Taco and drive around our old neighborhood. We stumbled upon a classic car show to walk around until the heat was unbearable.
Movement: Maybe but I'm not sure. There are so many new sensations that it's hard to tell if its baby or not.
Symptoms: Random bouts of nausea have returned and I've been having sharp pains in different areas. The other day I was at Anthropologie paying for my purchase when a major wave of nausea hit and I broke into a sweat while my vision blurred. I just knew I was going to throw up or faint. I ran to my car in the parking structure and sat down with the AC going full blast and it went away. That was super scary but I guess feeling faint is common.
Any weird dreams? So. Many. Weird. Dreams. I've noticed that my dreams will tell me when I need to wake up to use the restroom. With either a waterfall or people filling hundreds of cups up with water! I also dreamed that I owned a baby sloth that was sucking on my arm.
Have you been nesting? I've been daydreaming about nesting. We plan on house hunting once the baby is here so I've got ideas on how to make a simple nursery in our spare room. We also purchased the high chair I was swooning over because it quickly went on sale for an unbeatable price.
Looking forward to? Our Babymoon in Hawaii in 11 days! Praying for awesome weather!

Sixteen Weeks

This weekend we got to try out our new GoPro in the pool. It is definitely not as easy as it looks to take a pretty, graceful underwater photo but we have a lot of ridiculous ones to laugh at.

With each week that passes I start to accept that this is really happening. This growing bump of mine sure helps. I've been worrying that I'm growing too fast and that by the time I get to nine months I'm going to be the size of a truck! I just have to remember that every ones body handles this differently and my growing waistline just means I've got a healthy, growing baby in there.

Baby Lopez is looking like a real baby now! It can hear my voice and  see light. Isn't that crazy!?

How far along? 16 weeks!
How big is baby? The size of an Avocado
Total weight gain: 5lbs
Maternity Clothes? Yes, because they are sooo much more comfortable.
Stretch marks? Not that I can see.
Sleep: I can't get enough of it! I've been staying up later but I could sleep in all day.
Best moment this week: Getting my hair done because it was in desperate need of some attention.
Miss anything? Not really..maybe just being able to walk around without getting so winded.
Movement: Not yet but all the apps say it will be any day now!
Food Cravings: Ice Cream!
Food Aversions: Chicken
Anything making you queasy or sick: Staying up too late and being in the heat.
Gender: We will find out soon!
Symptoms: Back Ache and Some round ligament pain.
Belly Button in or out? In
Looking forward to? Our 16 week appointment on Thursday and the Disney 5k on Friday.

Week 14 Update

Hello Second Trimester!

How far along? 14 weeks! Officially in the 2nd trimester and I can't believe we made it!
How big is baby? The size of a nectarine
Total weight gain: I'm back to my normal weight +1lb
Maternity Clothes? Some maternity, some normal
Stretch marks? Not yet
Sleep: This week I've only been getting up once a night to go to the bathroom but I have a harder time falling asleep.
Best moment this week: Last Christmas Tims parents gave us gift cards to Glen Ivy so on Monday we took a spa day. It was so nice relaxing by the pools all day. They have these awesome floating bean bags that I wanted to steal. We also had the best nachos ever. Thanks John and Debbie!
Miss anything? Not being out of breath walking up the stairs.
Movement: Not yet! I felt a little blip earlier but I think it was just my breakfast digesting :)
Food Cravings: My cravings completely switched from savory to sweet. Now I could live on Ice Cream and cookies. Luckily I still have some will power.
Food Aversions: Greek food! We used to eat it once a week and now it sounds so gross. Last week we went out for Greek food with our Life Group and it was delicious but I was up all night feeling so sick.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Certain smells and being in the car
Gender: Not yet. I had a dream it was a boy but I've read that whatever gender you dream of, it's the opposite...hmm..
Symptoms: Fatigue, some nausea, getting more emotional (if that's even possible)
Belly Button in or out? In
Looking forward to? Our next appointment at the beginning of the month.

12 Week Update

This week I'm really feeling large and in charge which is silly because I know it's only the beginning! I have to keep reminding myself that this is whats supposed to happen and I haven't just let myself go.

I've decided to do bi-weekly updates just to keep a record of whats happening throughout the pregnancy.

How far along? 12 weeks 5 days
How big is baby? The size of a plum!
Total weight gain: I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight after losing 4 lbs
Maternity Clothes? I bought some maternity shorts and they are SO comfortable!
Stretch marks? Not yet
Sleep: I've been waking up 1-2 times a night to pee and toss and turn quite a bit.
Best moment this week: Our 12 week Ultrasound and sharing the news
Miss anything? A turkey sandwich from Jersey Mikes :(
Movement: Not yet. I'm wondering if I'll even notice any little flutters.
Food Cravings: Nothing really. In the beginning I couldn't get enough Mexican food, it's all I could stomach, but now I don't crave anything.
Food Aversions: Pretty much everything, but mostly chicken and even that comes and goes.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not eating soon enough, swallowing my prenatal pill, and any strong smell.
Gender: Still waiting!
Symptoms: Fatigue, Lower back pain, Nausea that usually hits in the afternoon, and anxiety
Belly Button in or out? In
Looking forward to? The second trimester!!!!

Something tells me we will have a very protective Big Brother on our hands!
