Happy October!

Yesterday we celebrated our 2 year anniversary and I realized that I never really posted much about our wedding so bear with me for this trip down memory lane...

/The Details/

Our reception was held in the same building as our ceremony. I loved the exposed bricks and wood beams. It gave it that rustic, barn feel that I always dreamed of.

My mom found this dresser at a local antique shop and painted it white. I plan on using it in our home someday. Hopefully in a nursery.

Our cakes were made by Tims talented parents and were exactly what I envisioned.

All of the flowers were from Costco. A couple months before the wedding I went in and told the florist on duty the color scheme that I wanted and just had to put all my trust in her. Although they didn't end up being exactly what I pictured I loved them just as much. The night before, my sister, best friend and I arranged them in various glass containers that I collected from thrift stores.

The arch was covered in tissue paper pom- poms that me and my bridesmaids made.

Our cookie favors were also made by my in-laws

My Cup of Tea Sunday: Workwear

I think one of the reasons I'm so excited to start working at Anthropologie is the way I can dress! I've never worked somewhere that I could be totally me and it's going to be so much fun!

All good things come to an end...

You may have heard that Angels Knoll park in Downtown Los Angeles was closed down.
It is the park in 500 Days of Summer where Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel hang out, but more importantly, it's the place where I became someones fiance.

"The Angels Knoll park above the Angels Flight funicular, the spot where Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt had a lovely moment in (500) Days of Summer, has been closed to the public to keep out the homeless and prepare for a property sale--the upper space of the park, where JGL's character described his love for architecture and his plans for improving LA's skyline, and the Hill Street concrete plaza at the foot of Angels Flight, across from Grand Central Market, are now both off-limits. A successor agency to the now-shuttered Community Redevelopment Agency owns the park and is trying to sell it--bureaucrats thought clearing the space of people would help, the Downtown News reports.
The Hill Street space was thronged with homeless people; according to Grand Central Market owner Adele Yellin, some were defecating in the space. On top of it all, when the park was first fenced off a few weeks ago, officials didn't include a gate, so the no one could remove the overflowing garbage bins inside, and a rat problemsoon took over. The city added a gate and cleaned up the space on Wednesday, but both parks remain closed. There's no timeline for a sale of the parks and many are steaming that it's now inaccessible: "I think it looks awful," one downtown worker says. "Yes, now it's clean, but you can't go inside."

I really wish we could have taken one more trip to visit it but I'm so happy my Sister-in-Law was there to take pictures! You can read our engagement story here.

Prayer Journaling

source

I feel like in the last year I've leaned on prayer more than ever before.
I've prayed the most heartfelt, broken, and lost prayers of my life and I've seen a difference.
I recently started journaling my prayers each morning and it's such an uplifting way to start your day thanking the Lord for all of your blessings and being as vulnerable as you can be. For me, the list maker and note taker, this is the perfect way. I really recommend it for anyone who's struggling with prayer.

Craze Tuesday: Hunter Boots

Hunter Boots

I know I'm not alone here when I say I'm ready for fall. Every blogger has mentioned it at least once in the last month. There's just something about fall fashion and cooler weather that gets us bloggers pumped up. I'm swooning over Hunter boots lately. They come in pretty much every color and are so cute. These would be perfect for our trip to New York!

What Style/ Color would you want?
